Beginning October 1, 2010, Platts will apply the 2010 RIN (Renewable Identification Number) assessments for the inside-duty New York Cargo gasoline assessments.
The inside-duty New York Cargo gasoline assessments include RIN and import duty, and are published in Platts Global Alert pages 14 and 570 and in the Platts US Marketscan.
The RIN value factored into the New York Cargo inside-duty gasoline assessments from October 1, 2010, would reflect a combination of renewable fuels as mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
The renewable fuels mandated by the EPA are conventional ethanol and biodiesel.
Daily RIN assessments are published on Platts Global Alert page 597.
From January 3, 2011, Platts will apply the daily RIN assessment for the current calendar year to its New York Cargo inside-duty gasoline assessments.
For example, in 2011, Platts will use the 2011 ethanol and biodiesel RIN assessments to calculate the RIN factored into the New York Cargo inside-duty assessments.
