Platts will begin publishing a daily Mean of Platts US Gulf Coast 3% sulfur residual fuel "strip" assessment, as well as the differential to that assessment, beginning October 1, 2010.
The US Gulf Coast 3% sulfur strip refers to the average forward value for the US Gulf Coast residual fuel oil assessment period of 5-13 days from date of publication.
In addition to the publication of the Strip, Platts would also publish the differential between Slurry, 1% residual fuel oil, 3% residual fuel oil and RMG 380 CST assessments and the Strip.
These assessments will appear in the US Marketscan and in Platts Global Alert page 50.
For methodology details, please contact jennifer_brumback@platts.com or esa_ramasamy@platts.com, with a cc to the Platts price group at pricegroup@platts.com.
