Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to change the cargo size for its FOB CVB corn assessment and FOB CVB wheat assessments from 25,000 metric tons to 30,000 metric tons, effective Nov. 1, 2024.
This change is intended to reflect the shift in the most commonly traded cargo size from the ports of Constanta, Varna and Burgas; Platts has observed that most of the wheat and corn traded from these three ports is now shipped in 30,000 metric tons cargoes.
This change would affect the following assessments:
Wheat FOB CVB basis Constanta (12.5%) (ACVBA00)
Wheat FOB CVB basis Constanta (11.5%) (ACVBB00)
Corn FOB CVB basis Constanta (ACVBC00)
[Platts is also seeking feedback on a proposed change to the names of these assessments, in a separate subscriber note published on Sept. 2 Platts proposes to rename FOB CVB Corn and Wheat assessments | S&P Global Commodity Insights (spglobal.com) ]
