S&P Global Platts has launched a daily Kalimantan Floating Crane assessment in US dollars per metric ton with effect from September 2, 2019.
The spot floating crane cost is a crucial component in relating to the free on board, or FOB, South Kalimantan price of Indonesian thermal coal loading on gearless ships that do not have loading/discharging equipment fitted onboard, to geared ships that have the equipment on board.
Platts first proposed to launch the KFC assessment in a subscriber note published on July 17, 2019: http://plts.co/M51Z30pcmtG
The Kalimantan Floating Crane assessment (Database Code: AKFCA00) will be published in Platts Coal Trader International, Platts Global Coal Alert (GCA) pages 410 and 425 and Platts European Power Alert (EPA) page 910.
Platts is constantly reviewing its methodology to ensure assessments reflect standard traded parameters in a given market.
