Platts launches LDPE CFR South Asia daily spot assessment

S&P Global Platts has launched a daily spot assessment for general-purpose low density polyethylene on a CFR South Asia basis with effect from Sept. 1, 2021.

The new assessment is to meet growing demand for pricing information in the South Asian LDPE market, and will complement Platts suite of polyethylene assessments into South Asia.

The new LDPE CFR South Asia assessment reflects 100-250 mt cargoes for delivery 15-45 days forward from the date of publication into Nhava Sheva and Mundra.

The assessment also reflects LDPE with a melt flow index of 0.3-4.0, and letter of credit of up to 30 days.

Pricing information reflecting product with other specifications, and for delivery into other ports in India and South Asia may be normalized to the stated standard.

Platts publishes the new LDPE CFR South Asia assessment in $/mt at the close of Asian trade at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT).

The new daily assessment follows the Singapore publishing schedule, and its weekly average is published at the close of Asian trade every Wednesday.

The assessment appears in Polymerscan, Platts Petrochemical Alert pages PCA 0266, PCA 0570, PCA 0530, PCA 0411, PCA 0531, PCA 0573 and PCA 0462, and the Petrochemicals Service on Platts Market Center, under the following price database symbols:
