S&P Global Platts wishes to clarify the methodology for its daily CFR Turkey heavy melting scrap I/II (80/20) assessment process.
Platts assesses "premium" or high-grade HMS I/II (80/20) as its base specification, to which all other forms of HMS are normalized. Normalizations for other grades to this base specification alter depending on observed market differentials, which are tested as part of the assessment process.
