Platts has reviewed requests from participants in the European biodiesel market and will refine the assessments of biodiesel FAME minus 10 and FAME 0 to take effect from September 1, 2010.
The proposed refinements are:
1) Changing of heading of "Biodiesel FOB ARA" with the Oracle code AAWGY00 to "FAME minus 10 FOB ARA". The Oracle code remains unchanged;
2) Assessments for both FAME minus 10 and FAME 0 to reflect barges of 1,000-3,000 mt, FOB ARA basis Rotterdam, loading 10-25 days from date of publication with prices normalized to the mid-point of this range.
For biodiesel FAME minus 10, the quality reflected will be fatty acid methyl ester that conforms to EN 14214 specifications with cold filter plugging point (CFPP) set at minus 10 degrees Celsius throughout the year. For FAME 0, the quality reflected will be fatty acid methyl ester that conforms to EN 14214 specifications with CFPP set at 0 degrees Celsius throughout the year.
Biodiesel blended with any non-bio additives will not be included in the assessment, with the exception of the BHT anti-oxidant. The assessment would exclude tax refunds or other rebates.
