In light of the severe disruption to oil operations caused by ongoing flooding in the Houston area, S&P Global Platts' assessments for US Gulf Coast high sulfur fuel oil on August 28, 2017, will not reflect bids and offers for physical barrels. The assessments will be based on an analysis of the relationship between physical fuel oil and associated derivatives.
In addition, Platts assessments on August 28, 2017, for Houston bunker fuel will not reflect bids and offers for physical barrels, but will be based on the relationship between bunker fuel and wholesale high sulfur fuel oil prices in Houston.
Further announcements regarding the assessments later this week will be made in due course.
