Platts to implement phased discontinuation of Netherlands HBE price assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will discontinue its Netherlands HBE price assessments, in stages, starting from Nov. 3, 2025.
The discontinuation is due to the Netherlands switching from its current renewable energy units, or HBE, scheme to a carbon emissions reductions model, or ERE, from January 2026.
This decision follows a proposal published here on July 25, 2025.
The following year-ahead or 2026 Platts HBE assessments will be discontinued effective Nov. 3, 2025.

As a result, Platts would no longer publish Dutch HBE price assessments effective May 1, 2026, in Platts Connect, Biofuelscan , Carbon Markets Daily, Fuel Ethanol Report, Biomass-Based Diesel Report and fixed pages PB1010, PB1012, PB1014 and PB1015.
