Platts proposes phased discontinuation of Netherlands HBE price assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to discontinue its Netherlands HBE price assessments, in stages, starting from Nov. 3, 2025.
The proposed discontinuation is due to the Netherlands switching from its current renewable energy units, or HBE, scheme to a carbon emissions reduction model, or ERE, from January 2026.
Under the proposal, the following year-ahead or 2026 assessments would be discontinued effective Nov. 3, 2025.

As a result, Platts will no longer publish Dutch HBE price assessments effective May 1, 2026, in Platts Connect, Biofuelscan, Carbon Markets Daily, Fuel Ethanol Report, Biomass-Based Diesel Report and fixed pages PB1010, PB1012, PB1014 and PB1015.
