Platts proposes to discontinue European biomethane GOs mtCO2e conversion calculations

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes discontinue mtCO2e conversions for European biomethane GOs waste assessments on Nov. 17.

There has been a market trend of greater emphasis on granular carbon intensity (CI) information as an indicator of value for biomethane certificates.

CI is also less effectively reflected by static conversion factors.

The following symbols would be discontinued as part of this process:
