Following industry consultation, Platts will publish a single value for each of its European electricity assessments in European Power Daily, European Power Alert and Platts Market Data, effective November 2, 2015. The value will reflect the midpoint of the current high-low assessment range.
Platts already publishes midpoint values in GBP/MWh and Eur/MWh for UK power in European Power Daily. Platts assesses the Polish and Turkish electricity markets on a midpoint only basis since December 2013 and July 2014, respectively. Assessments are published and databased in Zloty/MWh and Lira/MWh, respectively, and converted to Eur/MWh.
Platts seeks to publish the most relevant price data. Accordingly, Platts will continue to publish all power price assessments to two decimal places. In addition, Platts will publish price assessments in its European Power Daily newsletter and European Power Alert real-time services that reflect the midpoint values only, effective November 2, 2015, and will no longer display the high and low range in the primary assessment tables.
Platts will continue to publish a high-low range around its midpoint assessments for European power symbols in Market Data categories EE and PE. Ranges for all contracts will be standardized as follows:
- Primary assessments in Eur/MWh: +/- 25 euro cent. - Primary assessments in GBP/MWh: +/- 15 pence.
Please note that there are no high and low ranges for the Polish and Turkish electricity assessments. High and low ranges for the Polish assessments were discontinued in January 2014.
Platts will continue publishing the high-low range around its midpoint assessments for the German forward assessments in a separate table in European Power Daily.
