S&P Global Platts is opening a formal consultation regarding possible methodology changes to its FOB Rotterdam jet fuel barge assessment as it looks to improve efficiencies in its assessment process.
Platts welcomes feedback from market participants to ensure it continues to reflect prevalent merchantable specifications in this region.
This consultation welcomes feedback on typical barge sizes, location bases and laycans.
Specifically, Platts is consulting on the barge volume range which currently stands at 2,000-5,000 mt.
Platts is looking for feedback on its basis port of Rotterdam and the optionality of the range of ports in the Flushing, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Ghent range.
Platts further looks for feedback on the standardization of laycan dates in its jet fuel barge Market on Close assessment process. Platts would publish bids and offers within the front-end, mid-window and back-end laycan periods. Platts process reflects 3-15 (Monday-Tuesday) or 5-15 (Wednesday-Friday) days forward from date of publication.
Throughout this consultation, Platts also seeks feedback on the timing of this potential methodology change.
