SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes to change EU steel plate assessment frequency

S&P Global Platts proposes to change the frequency of its N. Europe EXW and CIF Antwerp steel plate price assessments (for grade S235, thickness 15-40 mm) to weekly from daily, with publication on Fridays.

Platts proposes to make this change from November 1, 2016, with the first weekly assessment on November 4.

This proposal comes on the back of information received from market sources that suggests the market mainly uses medium and long-term contracts and price indications rarely change more frequently than weekly.

Please submit any feedback, comments or questions about this proposal to: Emanuele Norsa, emanuele.norsa@spglobal.com; Laura Varriale, laura.varriale@spglobal.com, and pricemethodology@platts.com by September 9, 2016.

For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing.

Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
