Subscriber note: Platts to amend Urals, Azeri Light conversion factors

Following industry feedback and further research, Platts will amend its current metric tons-to-barrels conversion factor for Urals ex-Novorossiisk, ex-Primorsk and ex-Baltic from 7.3 to 7.23, for Azeri Light ex-Ceyhan from 7.3845 to 7.45 and for Azeri Light ex-Supsa from 7.3845 to 7.4 with effect from October 1, 2012. Platts initially proposed to update the conversion factors in a subscriber note published May 31, 2012. The conversion factors for Azeri Light and Urals are used in calculating freight costs for FOB Novorossiisk, Primorsk, ex-Baltic, Supsa and Ceyhan assessments, as well as Urals outright price assessments across the Russian domestic market.
