SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts updates Chicago refined product pipeline labels on fixed pages

Please note that S&P Global Platts has updated the labels of its daily and monthly Chicago pipeline assessments for gasoline and ULSD on Platts Global Alert fixed pages to "Chicago Pipeline" from "Chicago Generics," effective August 20. In addition, the labeling of the Chicago daily and monthly jet fuel assessments have also been changed to "Chicago Pipeline" from "Chicago" on the fixed pages. These changes are in line with a methodology change that went into effect July 2.

The are no label changes for these assessments in Oilgram Price Report, US Marketscan and the Platts price database, where they are referred to as Chicago pipeline assessments. As part of a methodology change effective July 2, Platts clarified the methodology of its Chicago refined product assessments to bring clearer definition to the generic Chicago basis previously used in the assessments. The majority of observed Chicago market activity is based on a specific, rather than generic basis, and Platts clarified that its existing pipeline assessments would reflect the lowest value between the Badger, West Shore and Wolverine pipelines. The following fixed pages on PGA will reflect the label change: MH160 MH320 MH321 MH420 MH421 MH480 MH481 Please send any feedback or questions to americas_products@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
