Platts clarifies dimensions specifications of European medium sections carbon-accounted assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, would like to clarify its European Medium Sections carbon-accounted steel premium (CASP) assessment specifications.

Platts Medium Sections CASP reflects dimension specifications of 80 x 120 mm, L 12 m, in line with the dimensions of its conventional Medium Sections Europe DDP assessment (SB01160). The assessments are published on a weekly basis and follow Platts London holiday calendar. Platts also publishes currency conversions and monthly averages for the assessments.

These specifications are unchanged since the assessments were first launched in 2024. They had been misstated in earlier versions of the Global Steel, Ferrous Scrap, Ferroalloys and Noble Alloys specifications guide due to a typographical error.
