Platts to expand its ZTP, THE natural gas market reporting

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has decided to extend its current Zeebrugge Trading Point (ZTP), Belgium, and Trading Hub Europe (THE), Germany, natural gas offering to additional months, quarters, seasons and years ahead, effective Oct. 2.

The new daily assessments will reflect the physical gas price for the following delivery periods:

On ZTP:

Quarter Ahead, Season Ahead, Season Ahead+1, Calendar Year 1

On THE:

Month Ahead+1, Quarter Ahead, Quarter Ahead+1, Season Ahead, Season Ahead+1, Calendar Year 1, Calendar Year 2

Belgian ZTP and German THE prices would be assessed in Eur/Mwh and would be converted into $/MMBtu, pence/therm and Eur/GJ.

This would utilize standard conversion factors (https://www.spglobal.com/platts/PlattsContent/assets/files/en/conversiontables/conversion_factors.pdf) and prevailing foreign exchange rates at the time of the assessment.

The new assessments would reflect the value at the close of the market at 4:30 pm London time and would follow the UK publishing schedule.

The decision follows a proposal note published Aug. 9 which can be found here:
