Platts to discontinue Aframax USGC-UKC freight derivative assessments Nov 3

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will discontinue the Aframax 70,000-mt US Gulf Coast-UK Continent freight derivative assessments, effective Nov. 3, 2025.

The proposal to discontinue is based on the lack of market interest in the derivative assessments and a greater focus on the spot assessment of the 70 kt USGC-UKC $/mt run (TDUCF00).

Platts originally proposed the discontinuation in a subscriber note published Aug. 5.

Platts started publishing freight derivative assessments on this route for the balance month, current month and three forward months on Nov. 1, 2021, details of which can be found here .

The benchmark spot assessment -- Aframax 70 kt USGC-UKC ( TDUCF00) remains unaffected by this change.
