Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will begin publishing daily spot settlement and monthly average settlement prices for Xpansiv's CCP-labelled contract for the Gold Standard registry from Sept. 16.
This product reflects standard instruments for voluntary emission offsets that meet criteria aligned with the Core Carbon Principles, as recommended by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market. This provides additional transparency for market participants buying and selling offsets.
The assessment details, and accompanying symbols, are outlined below:
Assessment Name | Symbol |
Platts CCP-GS Spot Settlement $/mtCO2e | ACCPD00 |
Platts CCP-GS Spot Settlement $/mtCO2e MAvg |
ACCPD03 |
Each CCP-labelled unit is associated with an approved registry, in this case Gold Standard, and is equivalent to the reduction of one ton of carbon dioxide equivalent.
The settlement prices will reflect a 2:30 pm New York close timestamp.
Platts will assess the Xpansiv CCP-labelled contracts using bids, offers and transactions from the Xpansiv CBL marketplace. In the absence of definitive market information at the close, Platts may consider related market information. This may include information from other Xpansiv spot contracts in the case of spot assessments, as well as reported and published over-the-counter market information. Platts may consider block trades in its assessments, but priority is given to live exchange data in all instances.
More details on the Xpansiv CCP-labelled standardized contract launch are available here.
