Platts is seeking feedback on the upcoming Forties sulfur de-escalator to be applied to September-loading North Sea Forties crude cargoes and related instruments. Platts considers a number of indicators in the determination of the Forties de-escalator level including the behavior of sweet and light crudes versus sour and heavier streams in the North Sea and other competing regions as well as the performance of refined products and the outright price of oil. Please send feedback by Wednesday, August 21, to europe_crude@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com. Platts plans to announce the Forties sulfur de-escalator to be applied to September-loading North Sea Forties crude cargoes and related instruments at 3 p.m. London time August 23, 2013. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
