SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts increases freight flat rates for Mumbai clean tanker routes

Following an increase in Port Tariffs at Mumbai, the flat rates involving this port have been revised by the Worldscale Association and will be reflected by S&P Global Platts from September 1, 2016.

According to Worldscale circular no. 24/2016, the amendment is effective for all voyages on which loading or discharge is commenced on or after August 19, 2016.

The Worldscale Association announced that "as a result of a significant increase in Port Tariffs at Bombay, [it is] necessary to revise all rates involving loading or discharging" at this port by adding $0.13.

This will affect the $/mt rates of the East of Suez clean assessments namely clean Arab Gulf-India 35kt, Arab Gulf-India 55kt and Red Sea-India 35kt.

The rates appear in the Platts database under the corresponding codes TCAAF00, TCAAG00 and TCABI00 respectively.

These assessments appear in Platts Clean Tankerwire and in Platts Global Alert pages 2920 and 2922 respectively.

The updated flat rates for the following assessments are: Clean 35kt Arab Gulf-India: $6.45/mt Clean 55kt Arab Gulf-India: $6.45/mt Clean 35kt Red Sea-India: $8.53/mt
