SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to launch three battery-grade lithium assessments

S&P Global Platts will launch Lithium Carbonate DDP China, Lithium Hydroxide CIF North Asia and Lithium Hydroxide DDP China assessments on a weekly basis with effect on September 7, 2018.

The launch of these assessments is in response to consistent and growing market demand for increased pricing information for the seaborne and Chinese domestic lithium carbonate and hydroxide markets.

The assessments will reflect lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide with battery-grade quality. All origins of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide meeting these specifications will be taken into consideration in the assessment. For the North Asia price points key importing ports in China, Japan and South Korea will be taken into consideration.

Unit and currency of measurement will be US dollar per metric ton for Lithium Hydroxide CIF North Asia, and Yuan per metric ton for Lithium Carbonate DDP China and Lithium Hydroxide DDP China.

The assessments will be published on Platts Metals Alert, page 8888 and in Metals Daily and will carry the following codes for the weekly assessments and monthly and quarterly averages:

BATCA04, BATCA03, BATCA05 (Lithium Carbonate DDP China) BATLH04, BATLH03, BATLH05 (Lithium Hydroxide CIF North Asia) BATHY04, BATHY04, BATHY04 (Lithium Hydroxide DDP China)
