S&P Global Platts will publish differentials for key US gasoline and distillate products versus their relevant prevailing futures contracts from October 2, 2017, in order to bring greater transparency to the assessed markets.
Gasoline and distillates in the physical oil market in the US typically trade on a differential basis to the relevant futures contracts. Platts will publish these differentials, alongside the outright price assessments Platts already publishes for these markets. The differentials will be assessed versus the same futures contract month that forms the basis of the existing outright price assessments.
