Following a sustained period of low market liquidity, S&P Global Platts will discontinue publication of bunker fuel assessments for Great Belt, Trieste, and Suez in Bunkerwire, effective January 2, 2018.
This decision follows the initial proposal note published on June 23, 2017, that can be found in the following location: www.platts.com/subscriber-notes-details/26758465
Price assessments for all three ports will continue to be published on the Platts Bunkerworld website and related services.
The Danish bunker location of Great Belt has seen suppliers move northwards to Skaw and Gothenburg. In Italy, Trieste has seen reduced competition leading to a less liquid market. Egypt's port of Suez meanwhile has seen continued low liquidity.
Platts currently publishes daily assessments of 380 CST, 180 CST, and marine gasoil (MGO) for all three ports, under the following symbols:
380 CST 180 CST MGO Great Belt AAHTG00 AAHTE00 AARSX00 Trieste PUAXT00 PUAXU00 PBABQ00 Suez PUAFU00 PUADY00 POADS00
