Platts clarifies SAF Credit Value calculation

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, would like to clarify the USWC SAF Credit Value has been factoring in the $1/gal blenders tax credit rather than the US federal Sustainable Aviation Tax credit from Jan. 3, 2023, to Aug. 15, 2024.

As of Aug. 16, 2024, the USWC SAF Credit Value (AUSWF00) will include the D4 Renewable Identification Number per gallon of SAF, the California Low Carbon Fuel Standard credit value per gallon of SAF and the US federal Sustainable Aviation Tax credit based on a tallow feedstock.
