Platts increases volume specification of Met Coke CFR East India assessment

Following industry feedback, S&P Global Platts has increased the volume specification of the Met Coke 64/62% CSR CFR East India (MCCEI00) assessment to minimum 10,000 mt, effective Aug.11, 2020.

The adjustment from the previous specification of minimum 5,000 mt brings it in line with the specification of the other Platts CFR India met coke assessments.

The change took into account spot market transactions for met coke of varying CSR levels, which Platts notes have taken place with average cargo sizes of between 25,000 mt and 35,000 mt. It also accommodates cargoes loaded in a single hatch of Handysize vessels.

The price is published in SBB Steel Markets Daily, Coal Trader International, on the real-time Platts Metals Alert and Platts Steel and Raw Materials Alert on fixed pages 205 and 1052, and in Platts Market Data category MC.
