SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts changes NYH front-month ethanol roll dates

Please note that effective August 11, 2015, Platts has updated the roll date of its front-month assessments of Atlantic Coast New York Harbor ethanol.

Platts will roll its assessments from prompt calendar month to second calendar month seven calendar days before the end of the prompt month to better reflect the market standard of five-day notice of a three-day transfer window.

The current methodology reflects a roll from prompt month to second month eight calendar days prior to the end of the prompt month.

If the seventh calendar day prior to the end of the prompt month falls on a public holiday or weekend, the roll to second month will take place on the business day immediately preceding the seventh calendar day. For example, July 24 was the first day for the August any-month assessment as the front-month assessment, as it reflected the first day of a five-day notice of a three-day transfer window that featured August 1 as a potential nomination day of delivery transfer.

This is in line with standard industry practices and prevents the assessments from rolling forward prematurely.
