Platts invites feedback and written comments on its proposal to discontinue Northwest European purified terephthalic acid contract price assessments and introduce spot price assessments.
The current NWE PTA contract price is assessed based on a derivation from NWE paraxylene contract prices, using a 0.67 multiplication factor, that is susceptible to retroactive settlements.
Platts proposes to discontinue PTA contract price assessments in NWE in favor of spot price assessments, that reflect a netback value from CFR China Asia PTA prices.
Please send your feedback and questions by September 10 to petchems@platts.com with copy to pricegroup@platts.com.
