Platts to amend European aluminum alloy volume specification

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is to update the volume specification for its weekly aluminum alloy 226 DDP Germany and 231 DDP German assessments to a minimum of one truckload quantity, from its current volume of one full truckload, effective Sept. 8.

Platts has observed that the standard traded volume may be larger than a single truckload, and the change aims to better reflect typical market practice. Under this change, volumes above one truckload will be considered for the assessment and may be normalized to the minimum specification.
