Natural Gas
August 09, 2023
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to extend market reporting, Belgian Zeebrugge Trading Point (ZTP), and German (THE) natural gas offerings to additional months, quarters, seasons, and years ahead, effective Oct. 2.
The new daily assessments would reflect the physical gas price for the following delivery periods:
On Belgian ZTP: Quarter Ahead, Season Ahead, Season Ahead+1, Calendar Year 1
On German THE: Month Ahead+1, Quarter Ahead, Quarter Ahead+1, Season Ahead, Season Ahead+1, Calendar Year 1, Calendar Year 2
Belgian ZTP and German THE prices would be assessed in Eur/Mwh and would be converted into $/MMBtu, pence/therm and Eur/GJ.
That will utilize standard conversion factors (https://www.spglobal.com/platts/PlattsContent/assets/files/en/conversiontables/conversion_factors.pdf) and prevailing foreign exchange rates at the time of the assessment.
The new assessments would reflect the value at the close of the market at 4:30 pm London time and would follow the UK publishing schedule.
Platts would publish the additional ZTP and THE assessments daily on the Natural Gas news wire, and in the European Gas Daily publication alongside its existing ZTP and THE natural gas prices.
The new assessments will be published on Platts alert pages PEP0648, PGN0824, PEP0802, and PGN0802.
