SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes domestic Brazil HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE assessments

S&P Global Platts proposes to launch weekly Brazil domestic spot polyethylene price assessments from October 3, 2016. The new assessments are for high density polyethylene, linear low-density butene polyethylene and low-density polyethylene to reflect delivery in South and Southeast Brazil by truck for the specifications below, in Real/mt.

Specifications for the polyethylene grades are: LDPE with a melt flow index of 1.8-2.5; LLDPE butene-1 grade with a melt flow rate of around 1.0; the HDPE grades are HDPE film, blowmolding and injection -- HDPE blowmolding and HDPE film grade with a melt flow rate 0.25 and higher, HDPE injection grade with a melt flow rate of 2.0-25.

Prices are for resin delivered 3-30 days from date of publication in South-Southeast Brazil and do not include taxes. Cargo sizes are for 500-1,500-mt/month or 16-50 mt/day with a letter of credit of 28-35 days. For deals with issuance of greater than 35 days, the value of the credit will be factored out for price assessment. Assessments reflect prices at 1:30 pm in the US' central time zone each Wednesday.
