Platts plans to introduce eWindow technology for the Asian Market on Close assessment process for physical FOB Malaysia gasoline cargoes August 16, 2013. Under Platts methodology, certain approved alternative locations may be used for offers of oil published during the Market on Close assessment process. The loadpoint must be clearly stated at the time of such an offer being communicated to Platts for publication. Platts currently reflects loadings from Pasir Gudang, Tanjung Langsat, Tanjung Bin and from certain floating storage units in its FOB Singapore assessment process. Participants in the Platts MOC assessment process will be able to submit offers FOB Malaysia for publication directly through the eWindow software, or through an editor, who would then publish the offers using the software. These offers would include the specific terminal name that is being offered under the section "Offer Terms". Offers and trades for FOB Malaysia gasoline 92 RON, 95 RON and 97 RON appear in the eWindow software with the hub name "FOB MY". Headlines generated by the software on Platts Global Alert will carry a suffix detailing the specific terminal mentioned in the "Offer Terms" section. Platts expects credit relationships that prevail within its assessment environment to fully reflect relationships in the markets as a whole. Where Platts editors publish bids and offers on behalf of a company that submits data to an editor, counterparty credit settings are set to "open" for regular participants in the assessment process, unless companies have notified Platts in advance of any restrictions. If you are submitting information through an editor and have not already notified Platts of any counterparty credit restrictions, please provide notification at least one hour prior to the start of the MOC process if any counterparty credit filters need to be modified. eWindow provides direct entry and management of credit filters, which should be those normally applied in the marketplace, for companies participating directly through the software. Platts provides training to participants interested in learning the use of the software. Please send any comments and questions to asia_products@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
