S&P Global Platts has launched daily assessments for FOB Amsterdam-Rotterdam (AR) non-oxygenated E10 Eurobob gasoline barges (AGEFA00) effective August 5, 2019, following a period of market research and outreach.
The assessment reflects a blendstock free from oxygenates that will meet the EN228 standard after the addition of up to 9.7% of ethanol.
In addition to an outright assessment of non-oxygenated Eurobob E10 gasoline barges, Platts publishes a daily differential to the existing Eurobob gasoline barge assessment (AAQZV00).
This follows an announcement by Platts June 26, 2019, that it will begin publishing these assessments from August 5, 2019, following a growth in the market for gasoline with higher levels of biofuels, as key European markets transition to this emerging standard.
The announcement can be viewed at: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/062619-pl atts-to-launch-non-oxygenated-e10-eurobob-gasoline-barge-fob-ar-assessment
The non-oxygenated E10 Eurobob gasoline barge FOB AR assessment specifications are as follows:
Loading dates: Platts assesses the value of non-oxygenated E10 Eurobob gasoline barges loading FOB AR 3-15 days forward from date of publication on Monday and Tuesday, and 5-15 days forward on Wednesday through Friday.
Size: Platts reflects bids and offers for parcel sizes of 1,000 mt.
Bids and offers may be published in multiples of 1,000 mt, up to a maximum of 5,000 mt. The assessment reflects a basis 1,000 mt size.
Specification: The assessment reflects a blendstock that will meet the EN228 standard, with a 95 RON/85 MON minimum octane rating after the addition of up to 9.7% of ethanol.
Loadports: All bids, offers and trades are published FOB AR (Amsterdam-Rotterdam).
Upon a deal, a seller can nominate any standard terminal in Amsterdam/Rotterdam.
Loading nominations at Antwerp or Terneuzen will also be reflected.
Where Antwerp or Terneuzen are nominated, any demonstrable incremental costs incurred by the buyer should be borne by the seller.
For further details on existing assessments, please refer to regional methodology and specifications guides at: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/methodology-specifications. Platts will continue to engage with all stakeholders and monitor for new fuel specification standards as they emerge to ensure its assessments reflect fuel grades that are most widely used.
Platts will provide timely notifications for any major changes to the assessments, including for any updates in specifications.
