Effective, August 1, Platts revised the methodology for its existing CFR India 6,300 GAR price assessments. Platts will rename its CFR India East 6,300 GAR and CFR India West 6,300 GAR as CFR India East 6,000 NAR and CFR India West 6,000 NAR, respectively. The specifications for the 6,000 NAR coal grade are as follows: Standard Capesize shipment of 150,000 mt, a standard calorific value of 6,000 kcal/kg coal on a Net As Received (NAR) basis with maximum total sulfur of 1%, maximum ash content of 15% and maximum total moisture of 15%. This assessment will take into account thermal coal trades in the spot market on a delivered basis in a 30-60 day forward window. Platts will take into consideration cargoes for discharge at terminals in both east and west coasts of India but will be normalized to Krishnapatnam port on the east coast and Mundra port on the west coast.
The symbols affected will be: TCAKL00 - CFR India West 6,300 GAR TCAKF00 - CFR India East 6,300 GAR
Effective August 1, Platts also revised the methodology for its existing CFR India 5,000 GAR price assessments. For this assessment, Platts will take into account thermal coal trades in the spot market on a delivered basis in a 30-60 day window, from the 90-day prices that were published previously. Additionally, Platts will consider the following specifications for the assessments named CFR India East 5,000 GAR and CFR India West 5,000 GAR: Standard gearless Panamax shipment of 70,000 mt, a standard calorific value of 5,000 kcal/kg on a Gross As Received (GAR) basis with maximum 1% sulfur, maximum ash content of 12% and total moisture up to 30%. Platts will take into consideration cargoes for discharge at terminals in both east and west coasts of India but will be normalized to Krishnapatnam port on the east coast and Mundra port on the west coast.
The symbols affected will be: TCAKP00 - CFR India West 5,000 GAR TCAKJ00 - CFR India East 5,000 GAR
