Following a period of industry feedback, Platts will begin publishing spot assessments for Midale Blend medium sour crude injected at Cromer, Manitoba, on September 1.
The assessment will be named Midale and would reflect an API gravity of 30 degrees and 2.35% max sulfur.
Trades with a minimum 1,000 b/d quantity will be taken in to account for assessment and smaller volumes would be normalized to this volume basis.
The assessment will reflect barrels injected in the first forward month, and will be assessed on a NYMEX light crude calendar-month average basis.
The assessment will appear on PGA page 401, in Platts Dispatch, and in Crude Oil Marketwire and North American Wire.
Please send questions and feedback to Matthew Cook at matthew_cook@platts.com and a cc to pricegroup@platts.com.
