Platts discontinues Middle East Marker LNG comparative differential against fuel oil

S&P Global Platts has discontinued the Middle East Marker (MEM) LNG comparative differential against fuel oil 180 CST 2% FOB Singapore cargo on Aug. 2, 2021.

This differential (LMENF00) was labeled as a comparison to fuel oil 180 CST 3.5% FOB AG since it was launched on Oct. 15, 2018. The differential published had reflected the difference between the MEM LNG (LMEMA00) and fuel oil 180 CST 2% FOB Singapore cargo in $/MMBtu (LUADW00), and the symbol description was updated on June 21, 2021 to clearly show this.

The discontinuation is part of Platts ongoing review of historical data sets.

This assessment appeared in Platts LNG Alert pages 1810, 1811 and Platts Natural Gas Alert pages 1040, 1041 under the daily price database code LMENF00 and monthly average code LMENF03.

Middle East Marker (MEM) LNG comparative differential against FO 180 CST FOB Arab Gulf fuel oil in $/mt (LMEMF00) has also been discontinued. Platts understands that this symbol remained extant in some data series, but has now been fully discontinued Aug. 2, 2021.
