Platts discontinues intraday CBL spot, CME futures carbon contract assessments, Aug 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued its 1200 GMT, 1630 GMT Xpansiv CBL Spot carbon contract intraday assessments and CME CBL GEO, N-GEO Futures intraday assessments, effective Aug. 1.

Platts proposed to discontinue these intraday assessments May 8, reflecting a lack of market activity for the corresponding contracts at the 1200 and 1630 GMT timestamps.

On May 22, Platts confirmed it would discontinue the assessments in a subscriber note available here.

The 1:30 CST Xpansiv-CBL spot settlement assessments are unaffected by these discontinuations.

The discontinuation applies to the following daily assessments and their respective monthly averages:

The assessments appeared in Carbon Markets Daily as well as in the fixed pages CMA2014, ETA2014, CMA2015, and ETA2015.
