Platts to discontinue intraday CBL spot, CME futures carbon contract assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will discontinue its 1200 GMT, 1630 GMT Xpansiv CBL Spot carbon contract intraday assessments and CME CBL GEO, N-GEO Futures intraday assessments, effective Aug. 1.
The decision to discontinue these intraday assessments was first proposed on May 8 in a subscriber note here (opens in a new tab).
This decision reflects the lack of market activity for the relevant contracts at the 12:00 GMT and 16:30 GMT timestamps.
The last publication date for the assessments will be July 31, 2025. Platts will continue to provide comprehensive coverage of Xpansiv CBL spot contracts through to the discontinuation date.
This decision does not impact the 1:30 CST Xpansiv-CBL spot settlement assessments.
The discontinuation applies to the following daily assessments and their respective monthly averages:
