Platts publishes US polymer contract assessments on a weekly basis and reflects the prevailing market value of the current delivery month's price.
Beginning August 1, the weekly domestic contract assessments will reflect settlements and negotiations between polymer producers and buyers through the course of the delivery month and market value may evolve through the course of the corresponding negotiations throughout the month.
With regularly late-settling contracts in some US polymer markets, backfilling final settlement levels at the end of the month does not provide the market with clarity about current conditions. Weekly assessments based on the latest market feedback and information provides more clarity about ongoing negotiations.
Weekly domestic delivered polymer contract prices are assessed for polyvinyl chloride (AASIX00, AAGZR00), low-density polyethylene (AAGZN00, AASIY00), linear low-density polyethylene butene grade (AASIZ00,AAGZO00), high density polyethylene injection grade (AALBN00, AASJA00), high density polyethylene blowmolding grade (AASJG00, AALBL00), high density polyethylene film grade (AASJH00, AALBP00), polystyrene general purpose grade (AASJI00, AAGZP00), high impact polystyrene (AAGZQ00, AASJJ00), polypropylene homopolymer injection grade (AAGZL00, AASJK00), polypropyleme fiber grade (AAGZM00, AASJL00), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (AASJM00, AARTU00) and polyethylene terephthalate bottle grade (AASMN00).
