Platts to assess Asian styrene butadiene rubber from September 1

Platts is proposing to introduce Asian spot assessments for styrene butadiene rubber with effect from September 1, 2012.

Asian SBR spot price assessments would reflect clear emulsion-grade SBR grade 1502 and solution-grade SBR grade 1502 cargoes traded on a CFR Northeast Asia and CFR Southeast Asia basis.

Spot price assessments will reflect standard parcel lots of 100-300 mt, trading 30-60 days forward. All price assessments will reflect the close of Asian markets, time stamped at 16:30 Singapore time (0830 GMT) subject to the typical guidelines of the Platts Market on Close assessment process.
