SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to maintain Singapore gasoline parcel size

Platts will maintain the size of gasoline cargoes reflected in its FOB Singapore assessments, concluding review of volumes that was initiated in October 2013. Platts FOB Singapore assessments will continue to reflect cargo sizes of minimum 50,000 barrels for gasoline 92 RON unleaded, 95 RON unleaded and 97 RON unleaded. The feedback that Platts received during the review, as well as shipping data analyzed by Platts, suggests a sizable part of the Singapore market continues to trade in clip sizes of around 50,000 barrels. Moreover, key importers in the region, such as Malaysia and Vietnam, procure a substantial portion of their gasoline requirements in cargo sizes of 50,000 to 100,000 barrels. As trade flows of gasoline in and around the Singapore market continue to grow, Platts may again review the cargo size volumes in the future to ensure they conform with broader industry practice. Platts periodically reviews the specifications of all its assessments to ensure they are representative of the most tradable grades and sizes. Such reviews may lead to changes to the existing specifications of an assessment, though any changes would be subject to further industry consultation ahead of any final decision. Platts current specifications for the Singapore gasoline assessments can be viewed in its Asia Pacific & Middle East Oil Products guide, available on www.platts.com.
