Platts is seeking comment on a proposal to change its US Gulf Coast 1% sulfur residual fuel oil assessment basis to FOB New Orleans.
Currently, Platts USGC 1%S fuel oil assessment reflects both FOB Houston and FOB New Orleans.
Under this proposal, fuel oil values demonstrated in the Houston market would be normalized to New Orleans for the final value to be published by Platts.
Platts publishes its USGC 1%S fuel oil assessment in Platts Global Alert, in Platts Oilgram Price Report, and the Platts US Marketscan, as well by Platts Dispatch.
Platts is proposing to implement this change on October 3, 2011.
Please provide feedback or submit questions by September 1, 2011, to americas_products@platts.com and pricegroup@platts.com.
