Commodity: Oil, Petrochemicals Region: Asia
In order to make the weekly International Enterprise Singapore import/export statistics more manageable for data subscribers, effective with the update for Wednesday, August 19, Platts will no longer publish zero values.
This data is distributed in dispatch categories IO (oil) and IP (petrochemicals), and in market center 19t for realtime data subscribers.
This change will not affect realtime news subscribers who receive these statistics on various PGA1300-series and PCA0800-series pages.
IE Singapore does not actually publish zero values. When Platts began offering this data several years ago, we set up our systems to insert zero values each week for IES symbols for which we receive no update from IE Singapore.
However, update patterns for this data have proven to be highly variable, and as a result, only 10 percent of the IES symbols updating in a typical week contain actual (non-zero) values published by IE Singapore.
This change will eliminate the large volume of zero values currently being distributed to Dispatch and realtime data subscribers each week, and align this data with the values actually being published by IE Singapore.
If you have any questions or comments regarding this announcement, please contact your local Platts Customer Care representative, or email support@platts.com.
