Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to update the volume specification for its weekly aluminum alloy 226 DDP Germany and 231 DDP German assessments to a minimum of one truckload quantity, from its current volume of one full truckload, effective Sept. 8.
Platts has observed that the standard traded volume may be larger than a single truckload, and the proposed change aims to better reflect typical market practice. Under this proposal, volumes above one truckload would be considered for the assessment and may be normalized to the minimum specification.
The proposal would affect the following assessments:
Assessment Name | Symbols |
Platts Aluminum Alloy 226 DDP Germany |
Weekly: AALVT00 Monthly avg: AALVU00 Yearly avg: AALVU16 |
Platts Aluminum Alloy 231 DDP Germany |
Weekly: ABLVT04 Monthly avg: ABLVT03 Yearly avg: ABLVT16 |
Full specifications can be found in Platts non-ferrous metals specifications guide at the following link:
https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/PlattsContent/_assets/_files/en/our-methodology/methodology-specifications/global_nonferrous.pdf
The assessments are published in Platts Metals Daily, on pages PMA/MTL4310 on Platts Metals Alert and Platts Non Ferrous Metals Alert, in the Platts Market Center, Platts Dimensions Pro and in the Platts price database under the codes listed above.
Platts invites feedback on this proposal to EMEAMetalsTeam@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com by Aug. 4.
