Platts keeps Waha natural gas index methodology unchanged

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has left the Waha daily (IGBAD00) and monthly (IGBAD03) natural gas index methodology unchanged and will continue including trades at Oneok and Westex.

In addition, trades at Agua Blanca pool have not been added.

This note follows a period of market consultation after publishing a decision note on June 9, 2023, which can be found here.

In addition, Platts has not added the Agua Blanca Pipeline, Trans-Pecos Pipeline, Double E Pipeline, Comanche Trail Pipeline, Roadrunner Pipeline and Red Bluff Express Pipeline to the Waha methodology for daily and monthly indices.

The Waha methodology is as follows:

Deliveries into interstate and intrastate pipelines at the outlet of the Waha header system in the Permian Basin in West Texas. Pipelines and locations include El Paso Natural Gas, Transwestern Pipeline, Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America, Northern Natural Gas, Delhi Pipeline, Oasis Pipeline, Atmos Zone 1, OneOk West Tex, Enterprise Texas Pipeline, Permian Highway Pipeline, and Gulf Coast Express Pipeline. Does not include Atmos Zone 3, Tolar Hub, Agua Blanca Pipeline, Trans-Pecos Pipeline, Double E Pipeline, Comanche Trail Pipeline, Roadrunner Pipeline and Red Bluff Express Pipeline.
