SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts to update 50 ppm gasoil ARA barge methodology

Platts proposes to align certain parameters in its 50 ppm gasoil ARA barge methodology with diesel and 0.1% gasoil ARA barges from January 4, 2016.

Under this proposal, Platts would assess barges with operational tolerance corresponding to up to 5% of the transacted volume.

Currently, Platts does not include any operational tolerance in its 50 ppm gasoil ARA barge assessment

Bids, offers and trades in Flushing and Ghent would be included for consideration in Platts assessments, with the basis of the assessment remaining Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp.

Under current methodology, Platts does not reflect bids, offers and transactions in Flushing and Ghent, but a seller may elect to supply from Flushing and Ghent providing any additional freight costs are for the seller's account.

Finally, Platts would assess barges loading 3-15 days forward on Monday and Tuesday, and 5-15 days forward on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Currently, Platts assesses barges loading 5-15 days forward on every day of the week.
