Platts changes ACCU, NZU MOC timestamps

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has changed the Market on Close timestamps for its Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) and New Zealand Unit (NZU) assessments to better align with the concentration of market liquidity, effective July 22.

For ACCUs, the timestamp has moved to 1630 Melbourne/Sydney/Canberra time (0630 GMT), from the previous timestamp of 1930.

Platts has also changed the MOC timestamp for its NZU assessment to 1830 Auckland/Wellington/Christchurch time (0630 GMT), from 1930 previously.

Platts understands that multiple ACCU market participants are also active in the NZU market, and a similar Platts Market on Close assessment process time aligns with existing market practices.
