Platts proposes to discontinue US ratable assessments for gasoline, diesel

S&P Global Platts is proposing to discontinue its US Gulf Coast ULSD and US Atlantic Coast gasoline ratable assessments effective November 2, 2020.

The ratable assessments reflect value for a full month of supply from the date of publication. Spot liquidity in these ratable markets has declined over the years, with physical trading focused more on the prompt pipeline cycle and the use of derivative contracts to hedge forward positions, Platts understands. The affected assessments are as follows:

Assessment Code

ULSD USGC pipeline ratable Mo01 AASAR00

Gasoline RBOB NY Ratables AAVSS00

Gasoline CBOB NY Ratables AAVSR00

These assessments appear on Platts Global Alert pages 154, 156, 310, 430, 481, in Platts US Marketscan and Platts Oilgram Price Report, and in the Platts price database under the codes above.
