Platts is seeking industry feedback on a proposal to discontinue its waterborne assessments for low sulfur diesel (500 ppm diesel) in the US Gulf Coast and on the US West Coast, effective January 1, 2014. The US Gulf Coast assessment appears on PGA Page 481 under the code POAES00. The US West Coast assessment appears on PGA Page 482 under the code AADDV00. These assessments also appear in US Marketscan and Oilgram Price Report. Platts has previously discontinued its domestic pipeline assessments for low sulfur diesel. There is limited demand in the US for the product, as most demand has shifted to ultra low sulfur diesel. As such, spot market activity is extremely limited. Please send questions and comments to americas_products@platts.com with a cc to pricegroup@platts.com by September 21. For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
